Working alongside an international team of researchers, members of the Board Insception Lifebank, Dr. Ian Rogers and Dr. Nagy, has identified a new type of stem cells that could play a role in the generation of safer and more efficient creators of cells used in the treatment.
Led by Dr. Nagy, the project is called "grand project", a nod to the scale of the commitment of the team. The discovery was announced by the simultaneous publication of five scientific papers in the journals Nature and Nature Communications. Professor Jim Woodgett, Director and Professor Lunenfeld U of Biophysics medical notes T department, "These documents reinforce how strategic investment in the best science can truly transform our understanding and lead to new therapeutic possibilities."
discovery made news around the world, capturing the imagination of the public with the promise it holds for the treatment of currently incurable diseases. (See the CBC coverage, read the Toronto Star article, read the article from TIME magazine ;. Read coverage of The Australian)
Driven by a desire to improve the quality of treatment for patients, the team of about 50 scientists worked together tirelessly to "contribute to a unified product that none of [them] as people might even get close to."
